Are we there yet?!?

Ah, yes. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. This is something all too familiar for us all, whether we are 2 years old strapped into a car seat, or 34 years old,  staring at the circling rainbow spiral of death spin round and round on our computer screen.... we all must wait. What are we waiting for? In most cases, we are waiting for "something" to happen: waiting for the light to turn green, waiting for the child to stop screaming, waiting for the server to bring your food, waiting for the guy to return your call.... 

My "something"  has really been more of a "someday". I hear myself say it all the time: "Someday I'll do ______ " (insert, 'if', 'when', 'but', 'maybe' and all other ninny-poo words). Well, here I am owning up to my "someday". For me it's, "Someday I'll make my music happen, and use my creative energy to do really fun stuff!!". So I wait for someday to happen, realizing that it will always be at arms length. I'll never catch up to it. It's not contained in a capsule that will magically turn into a dinosaur shaped sponge when I add water. After all, it's my someday - not yours. It will always be a few steps ahead of me. Unless I make it happen!

I invite you to follow me on this journey, with the caveat that I have no idea where it will go. I intend to start with writing, some recordings of my music and see what happens. I did not intend to be totally transparent with this project, but I realized that doing so would put a little fire under my toosh and keep me motivated. So THANK YOU for reading!
